[Ginko is always out and about. During the Zompania draft, he was no fighter - but he was doing his best to help the refugee and injured soldiers that were residing in the city proper. Unfortunately, his medical expertise is limited; there wasn't a great deal he could do, other than to assist more experienced doctors where he could.

He has taken to the forest quite a bit, lately. He's explored around the area, looking at its features and distinctions. It's entirely possible that someone could find him crouched or seated next to a foreign plant, inspecting it curiously, or treading down a path through the forest. He's intrigued by the small "newbie huts" that were constructed, as well as evidence of the fighters training in the forest. This is far and above anything he'd see back home.]

Assuming this works... I've been reading the guides to this place. I'm interested in speaking with the spirits, and by extension, those of you who are talking to them regularly.

It'd be important for me to find a way to be of assistance in this warfare situation.

Hmm... and I'm still looking for my medicine box. It's large, wooden, and meant to be worn on the back. If you find a box like that, please don't just rummage through its contents, if they are present.

It's a good way to carry a number of fragile things over long distances, and to keep them organized.

Unless you can't drive. I couldn't either for awhile.

A cart isn't very convenient for the routes I prefer to travel. Cutting through by going over a mountain or going by sea is much harder with that much stuff carried around with me.

Although I suppose mountains and see would produce much of the same issues.

[Xzana had left the safety of her lakeside home in order to hunt. Since her return from the draft she had hidden there and tried to ignore the nightmares that plagued her since her death. Would have happily stayed deep below it's surface forever except she knew better than to eat all the fish there. She needed to let some of them grow.

A human bent over some plant was not the deer she had been hoping to find. The long limb woman probably would have left Ginko to his own devices, but there was something about the way he bent, studying the plant, that reminded her of a friend from her home world. If only Ginko's hair was dark and eyes brown instead of green. Ah, well.

Wearing a yellow halter and a light blue skirt she stands quietly behind Ginko. Watching him study the plant, not even thinking about how this might be rude. Casimir after all had once told her that he enjoyed her company when he studied so certainly this was normal. She had nothing to say, but was always amused by humans efforts to try to understand the world around them. She wonders if maybe this human would chatter on in excitement as well if some sort of discovery was made. She never understood the discovery itself, but the emotion behind it was always fun to watch.]

[Excitement is not Ginko's forte (as much as Adashino, at least), nor does Ginko get too absorbed in anything to not notice the footsteps approaching from behind. Glancing over his right shoulder to look - huh. A woman with scales on her skin.

He stands up, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and politely blowing the smoke away from her rather than in her face.]

Hello. I'm not impeding on something, am I?

No. You are not. [Xzana's voice is a bit gruff and gravely sound. The words forming in a careful and slow rate. She takes a step to get a better look at what Ginko had been studying.] For a moment you had me recall a man from my home.

[Although, now that this man was talking to her instead of looking at his plant she starting to wonder if she was being a bother.] I have impeded on you?

Not really.

[He's certainly looking her up and down, and getting an eyeful.]

Scales, though... they're not like anything I've seen.

[He's seen at least one incident that involved "scales" growing over human skin due to mushi, but definitely not anything like these natural-looking scales.]

[She stands not at all uncomfortable under Ginko's gaze. Although she's a bit surprised at his interest in her scales.] Have you no dragons, lizards, or snakes in your world? What of fish? They have scales as well.

I'm gonna keep an eye out for that medicine box. It sounds neat! And I can help you with the spirits, too. I've made bonds with a few of them already, and I intend to work on even more.

[Ginko chuckles, a bit, at the last part.]

Help isn't necessary, I'm just interested in hearing experiences.

Experiences, huh? Okay! Let's see... the first one I talked to was Kipinn! He's the wind spirit, and we get along really well. He came to me one night with the ocean breeze, while I was with a friend of mine who also had a contract with him.

Yeah? You had a natural connection, then, if the guide is to be believed.

Yeah! I guess it was like that. It makes a lot of sense, since Kipinn's wind and I've been an airbender since I was little.

Mm I can help you on the spirit front if no one else has offered yet.

[ He frowns on his end, rubbing his chin in thought. ] It still hasn't shown up? That's strange, usually things only take about a week or two to show up here. I hope no one has taken it accidentally.

[Well, finally it has the image of someone else - perhaps that means it worked?]

Hmm. It does have living creatures stored inside, so there may be complications.

[ She sounds tired enough, though that particular familiarity has her responding over the journal even if she prefers not to use them. ]

As for the spirits, you're welcome to ask for my assistance if you'd like. Though mostly contacting them relies on you; whether you're listening in the right places to get their attention, or if they'll even favor you with their specific affinities. Some might be drawn more quickly than others. I'm sure you'll notice Nala's presence soon enough, or Faerin's -- they seem most likely to be drawn to your nature.

I read as much. I'm hoping to contact Nala, since I'll need something to be a worthwhile participant in emergencies like the previous incident. My rudimentary first aid wasn't much help.

Well, she tends to be the earliest to hear from out of all of them. Just take a little time each day to meditate, and she'll reach out to you soon enough. Her presence tends to feel like a calming sensation. It'll likely be a little odd, at first, but identifiable.

[Kohaku has been spending a lot of time in the woods since she got back. The one thing she doesn't need magic for is listening to the plants. Which only makes her laugh a little when she finds someone inspecting a plant.]

[Ginko was gently holding out a single leaf to observe its shape, but he lets go of the plant to look at his new companion. His eye widens in surprise as he glimpses the transparent wings.]

Wings...?

[That's pretty different.]

Yes? You have wings too.

Ah, no, I mean the larger set you have...

[Ginko stands up from his crouch, taking the cigarette out of his mouth.]

...Or do you simply have something different about the wings you have in this place?
