Ginko is a strange fellow. He doesn't have any true "super powers" or abilities beyond a simple one: being able to see the Mushi in his world. Mushi are the beings most similar to spirits that Ginko has ever encountered, many of them acting like folklorish creatures (despite Ginko researching their actions through a more scientific, biological scope).

This post is simply this: do I have permission for Ginko to recognize something inhuman, spiritual or otherwise supernatural about your character? Is there something unseen by most that you'd be fine with Ginko being able to see? He doesn't really have a "magic radar" or an unseen sense, it's more that he can see, hear, and smell things that normal people absolutely can't.

You may also contact me on this post regarding getting Ginko into a confrontation/getting into a physical fight. Disagreements are disagreements, but I'd like to be aware before threading what level of damage we as players would like to inflict before we begin. I'm typically fine with Ginko sustaining heavy injuries, I simply want a heads-up if things are going to get violent so that I can plan Ginko's RP situation accordingly.

Little Mac has nothing inhuman or spiritual about him. He's just a short cutie with a shit-ton of heart. :P

Isaac here is a different story. Flowing through him is the magic of his erstwhile master from canon, Dracula. In that canon, Drac occupies a very Satan-y role, being the biggest bad there is in his world and having beef both with mankind and God for reasons I won't get into. This black magic, which can have the effect of perverting nature and bringing things to life depending on how it's applied, can radiate off a forgemaster like Isaac in torrents strong enough to break magic seals if he gets worked up in battle enough. I take this to mean that any sort of exertion will make it more noticeable to someone sensitive to magical auras. If it makes a difference, the magic is referred to as being demonic and so I'm totally cool with the possibility of Ginko mistaking Isaac for a demon, if there's a chance that he would.

Isaac also has familiars of his own creation, or innocent devils as the game calls them. They can have a physical form or a 'spirit' form, and Hector-mun (player of a fellow devil forgemaster) and I have agreed on the logic that devils in spirit form linger just beyond the fabric of reality while waiting to be summoned. If you'd like, feel free to have Ginko notice a white wisp constantly and tightly circling Isaac's body.

I think I rambled enough but if you have any questions at some point just feel free to shoot a PM and I'd be happy to offer clarification. Peace!

Ginkoooo <3

Ahem, feel free to have him notice that Eley is inhuman assuming they meet while he's in human form, as he is a Wind Spirit. :3 There isn't really anything un-seeable that exudes off him but he can give off a strange aura to people sensitive to it. It's generally a peaceful aura that one might attribute to a calming breeze, though naturally it would become more intense of angry.

Xellos here is from Slayers canon if you are familiar. He is a member of the Mazoku race, for most here he seems pretty much human, he goes to lengths to make sure that his form is as human as possible.

If you want Ginko to notice that Xellos is not a human and some form of demon, that is perfectly acceptable, though if he does it in a way that is too public, Xellos will likely curse him. So, I'll leave that up to you what you think he will do with that information.

Well, he would be lacking any sort of heartbeat or breath unless he is aware someone was looking for that. The normal human form is actually a projection, and his true form is that of a black cone. To be fair though, most of the canon cast who are experienced mages and frequently battled various monsters including other Mazoku were not aware of his true nature until much later on, after it is just sort of revealed.

Though enough blabbing on that. Hope you have a fun time here with Ginko. :D

GINKO~

Luke here is definitely not human. Not only is he a clone of Asch, but he's basically made of tiny music-atoms with an element like memory/healing/light. In his canon, he and Asch are basically earthly incarnations of the planet's memory/a sort of god dude, and they're referred to as "the light of the sacred flame". Most notably, they have the power to annihilate stuff. Like literally make it not exist. It's some kind of nuclear fusion, walking around in the form of a teenager.

But yeah, he's not human and you are more than welcome to tell, whether it's noticing how flamey-like he is or that EVERYTHING IN HIM IS STRANGELY SINGING or whatever. ~*~*~*~MAGIC*~*~*~*~*~

That could be fun! Something like a faint, warm humming is occasionally shown in canon, but then there's this weird whistling thing when Luke has a fon call.

You can do whatever you feel works best for Ginko, though I'd have to draw the line at hearing something like this.

Ginko is totally free to know the following - if anything changes, I'll update this comment:
Okita Souji| [personal profile] ahappylie: Nothing special here except that he died once.

Beat| [personal profile] skaterbrain: He's caught in limbo, not dead but not alive. He's hanging on by sheer willpower and the fact that Luceti has frozen him in time.

Peggy Carter| [personal profile] rightfootforward: Nothing special or supernatural here.

Walter Bishop| [personal profile] unfringed: Mentally not all there, but otherwise normal. He has some residual energies left over from crossing between universes.

Aaaaaah, Ginko ♥

Rudy here is a Holmcross, which means he's an artificially created being born of alchemy. If it helps, said species name is a mistranslation of homunculus, which probably explains things a bit better. Go figure. Oh yeah, and his biological system is composed entirely of living metal. He looks very human, however, so this wouldn't be immediately obvious at first glance. The real weirdness, however? That lies with his arms!

His left arm is a prosthetic that for the most part looks and feels like a regular arm, aside from being covered in bandages and a metal bracer anyway. It's a fragment of the Guardian Blade that was forged into a replacement for his missing arm, and it contains the powers of both the Guardians of Life and Evil. Like Rudy, the blade itself is made from living metal too.

Now his right arm, on the other hand? (ba-dum-tish!) It's cursed. We've discussed this, so I won't go any further there unless you'd like me to. Right now it is in an inactive, sealed state thanks to the efforts of Isaac and Saori. But it's at best essentially a bandaid over the issue, and there's always the possibility it can come back someday.

In short, he's weird and his arms are equally weird. Ginko is free to point out and laugh at how very weird he is. Anything you need clarified, tell me and I'll be happy to elaborate.

Absolutely! I'd be happy to play any of those hooks out with you anytime.

l-lmao, that would definitely leave a hell of an impression for sure. It's healed a bit since getting sealed months back, but it's still left some pretty nasty scarring. Bad enough for him to try passing it off as a burn, anyway. Either way, I'm cool with however you'd like to handle it.

Ginko is welcome to recognize Emil as being a summon spirit!

Gai is human, but he is also infected by a virus known as the Apocalypse Virus. There's a pretty clear visual tell to this too in the form of crystals on one side of his face. Not sure if Ginko would be able to pick up on that or not, but I figured I might as well mention it anyway.

Hmm, that's a tough one. Emil LOOKS human, so I'm not sure there would be any clear visual cues there. The half-elves in the game don't seem to pick up on anything weird as far as his mana is concerned, but I don't know if Ginko would be more attuned to something like that or not.

Anyone can see the crystals on Gai's face! (And I should add that his journal is [personal profile] voidseeing) They're constantly present and they're just as evident to everyone as they are in that screencap. I should probably have clarified that I wasn't sure whether Ginko would pick up on the less-than-entirely natural virus, not the crystals.

Saleh (this account) is human, but he has studied magic since childhood, so he's grown into a powerful sage. I suppose I could leave it up to you whether Ginko can sense some kind of magic in him.

Karla ([personal profile] swordprincess) is also human, but has rather inhuman strength and speed. However, it's all in her state of mind, nothing magical about it.

Loki is definitely, definitely not human, but give him five minutes and that becomes readily apparent. I'd be totally okay with Ginko being able to pick up on the fact that he's Jotun (and has a secondary appearance that he never really wears) however you'd like to do it. Oh, and magic! Lots of magic. ^^

Helios has a small portion of a dead god stuck to his soul. It's Apep from the Egyptian mythos and I usually have it seen as a gaseous snake that kind comes out of Helios' body. But Ginko can see it as that or just black miasma type stuff if you want. I'm cool with either since a few people can see Apep in general. But whatever you think is more plausible for him~

Vash | Trigun | [personal profile] goldenglasses - For him I'm cool with Ginko spotting something, but I'm not sure how to play it exactly so I'll give you the lowdown on him and if you feel it needs a bit of tweaking to fit what Ginko can do please do so! As Vash is an Independent Plant he has a "gate" within him that basically has the power to do nearly anything if he knew how to control it a bit better. How the Plants can do this isn't really know as that information has been loss, but the original Plants that he was born from were created by humans, but are also organic life as well.

So perhaps Ginko can see some sort of aura like presences in Vash? Or he could just smell a bit odd. Whatever he notes of Vash it should also be noted that he'll get small traces from it as well from the handgun Vash keeps on him at all times. As it is hiding a mini-gate inside of the chamber.

Xzana | OC | [personal profile] elongatedsmile - She's a mixed blood of dragon, water nymph, and a few other creatures; although she only knows of the first two. She's covered in scales, her arms, legs, fingers, toes, eyes, nose, mouth, and ears are all longer than on a human, and she has claws. Feel free to notice what you like using Ginko's ability on her. As it's not like she can hide what she is. She does have three different forms so he's welcome to get the same feeling if she is in any form if that helps!

If you want more permission, have other ideas, or need more information please feel free to reach out to me! I love plotting and whatnot and usual open to just about anything!

They can be. Although they're even more than that. They can do/make pretty much anything. Terraform, create food, water, energy sources, as well as teleporting, energy blasts, telepathy among each other, and then some. Like when you wonder how those in the desert had Salmon for fish sandwiches? The Plants created the fish meat. (Well, that's the best example I can give. Canon doesn't really give a very clear cut answer, but that's generally accepted.) So basically limitless power. The only thing is if they're not properly utilized and regulated the Plants can use their power too fast and die (from internal massive hemorrhaging of every organ breaking down and dying at once - so not pretty) or not produce the results someone might want.

Wan right now is just a teenager, so all he has super natural is that he has the power of fire (which is basically firebending, but without learning to actually control it) it's more of a modification of his own chi than an actual spirit though. Giving/taking away elemental powers has been described as "bending the energy within yourself" (and bending can be physically blocked via chi blocking). I havn't watched mushishi yet so I don't know if that would really count.

Seventeen here is half human and droid. In all it's impossible to sense energy from him since it's all artificial. I guess he could smell and hear his body functions very different than normal humans, like he never gets tired (unless severely beaten). I guess he could smell some metal on him and OH, there's a bomb in his chest. Other than that, his cells are nearly frozen stopping his growth.

In all, Seventeen doesn't mind if Ginko knows about it, long as he doesn't make a big deal about it. Seventeen will be intrigued how he knew, and that's about it.

Kohaku here is an angel. And if I were to go off of everything in the manga/anime...Well the first thing to notice is her voice, and the effect she has on people she's near.. She was once (And probably still is) the purest soul in Heaven, and therefore has a 'perfect' voice. To humans it's calming and relaxing to hear, and just being around her does so as well.

Other odd things? Well, he clothes are made up of magic. She also has her hidden angel wings. (I have no qualms if you wanna have him see 'em. They're mostly see-through, but tinted yellow. And quite large.) Normally floats (not very high) instead of walking...but will act like she's walking so it's more unnoticable.

She also technically has no gender. =\

Rikku Normal girl. Kinda not a fully normal human with her swirled eyes and extra fast growing hair, but that's not magical. However, she does carry around a few dresspheres which have magical properties. You can watch a small clip in it if you try. Not much else.

Okay let me actually do this now!

Aang here is the Avatar, and I thiiink I'm recalling correctly that you know the canon? (If I'm mistaken, I can go into more detail about his nature!) I can't think of any noticeable cues that Aang would give out as to his true nature aside from the bending powers and Avatar State which anyone can see. As a side note, it's been revealed in Korra that the Avatar spirit is actually a feminine light spirit, although I don't think there's a way to tell from the outside. But if you could think of any other cues that could apply to him, I wouldn't mind hearing!

Also, Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler ([personal profile] wildbluevagner) is a mutant whose true form resembles a fuzzy blue devil. He's actually half-demon too, but he doesn't know that. Most of the time, he wears a special holographic watch called an image inducer. This makes a hologram around him that makes him look like a normal human (and makes his tail completely invisible). I'm not sure if there's a way to see through the hologram. I'm not sure about cues aside from that whenever Kurt uses his teleporting power, it's accompanied by the smell of brimstone, so traces of that smell could always be present on Kurt.

For Jade ([personal profile] yourfononsarewhack), he's from the same canon as Luke fon Fabre up there. Those sound particles (known as fonons) are kind of like a basic part of matter and are used for the canon's equivalent of magic, so they can be found around Jade as well. Also, Jade's eyes are red because he's modified them with a procedure known as fonic sight, so that his eyes are like a focal point for the power of those sound particles. I know, a lot of this is kind of complicated/confusing to explain... but basically a some of those music atoms could be heard from Jade too, just not to the same extent.
